If you're a busy person and don't always have time for breakfast, this recipe is perfect for you! It literally take 5 minutes to make the night before, so all you have to do in the morning is grab a spoon and this from the fridge, pop the top and eat up! The best part: it's filled with lots of nutritional stuff to pump you with energy, especially if you have a busy schedule. I try many different combinations for variety, but this one is my favorite.
What You'll Need:
- 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/3 cup nonfat greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp organic honey (or real maple syrup)
- handful of chopped raw almonds
- 1/4 cup raspberries
This recipe is very easy, and only requires a few steps. First, take the raw almonds and chop into chunky pieces. If you like the texture of sliced almonds better, you can use them instead of chopping your own. I personally like the bigger chunks, which gives the mixture more of a crunch.
Next step is to lightly mash the raspberries. This is so the raspberries can give extra flavor within the mixture. You can also add in a little raspberry jam if you prefer, which can also make the mixture sweeter.
Once properly prepared, add all of the ingredients into a clean 16oz mason jar. Shake well, and put in the fridge the night before you plan on consuming. After it sits overnight, take out in the morning and enjoy!
